Bendigo's City of Gastronomy bid hots up and we're right with them

The Australian National Commission for UNESCO has endorsed the City of Greater Bendigo’s application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a City of Gastronomy.

The endorsement means Bendigo city will now forward its application to UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, where it will be considered alongside all other applications from around the world.

Bendigo Writers Festival plays a small part in this bid, as the City is keen to showcase food and sustainability within our program.

Events such as the Gastronomy Breakfast on Sunday morning, with food prepared by Sonia and Nick Anthony from Masons of Bendigo, are a great place to hear more about Bendigo’s bid and the important place gastronomy has in the region.
