The Damage Done
From his memoirs to his short stories and novels, as well as his essays, Tony Birch is renowned for his ability to find clear, bold language to describe sometimes difficult, delicate things. His new novel is about the damage done by forced removal of Indigenous children from their families. Tony talks to Claire Flanagan-Smith about how he came to write this book, about the need for such stories, and about the evolution of his own writing.
