Dr Kirsty Duncanson

Dr Kirsty Duncanson is a criminologist whose research focuses on legal responses to gendered violence and cultural representations of law. She works with community legal centres to investigate the legal processes used to address domestic and family violence as well as interviewing barristers about their work doing “sex trials,” studying factors influencing jury decision-making in rape trials, including courtroom design and cultural practices of hearing stories. Her latest book is Embodiment and Legal Theory: Law in Fifty Shades of Grey (Routledge). Kirsty is a Senior Lecturer in Crime, Justice and Legal Studies at La Trobe University.
