Prof Andrea Carson

Andrea Carson is Professor of Political Communication at La Trobe University. Andrea is an internationally recognised scholar in journalism and political science, with a distinguished career spanning both academia and professional journalism (ABC, The Age). Her research focuses on advancing public discourse on information quality as it relates to democracy - including both high quality such as evidence-based journalism and low quality such as misinformation and disinformation. She is the author of several books and journal articles about politics and the media, public trust, election campaigns, misinformation and how to manage it. Together, her research explores the future of journalism and political communication and their relationship to democracy.
