Thomas Mayo

Thomas Mayo is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander man who lives on Larrakia Country in Darwin. He is an elected National official of the Maritime Union of Australia, and an award winning author, essayist, orator and a signatory to the Uluru Statement from the Heart. His advocacy and leadership for worker’s rights and for justice for Indigenous peoples spans over twenty years. Thomas is currently on the board of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, and is on the steering group for the First Nations Clean Energy Network. His latest book is Always Was, Always Will Be - The campaign for justice and recognition continues.
